Tale of the flight:
left home late a night to find temperatures still close to 30°C outside. Had to change trains thrice. Waiting in the heat for ACed trains to arrive (25 min, 1.5 hours, 2 hours) was hell, but at least I was lucky and none of my trains broke down. Arrival at airport at 6:20 a.m. (ten minutes before they opened the thing!). Flight took off at 09:45...
::: breathe :::
Really, there's nothing better to say (though you probably have to be an asthmatic to truly appraise its true glory).
FM-PMS will resume, soon! :)

Heatwave 2010 - Day 3
2010-07-10 14:23Outside temperature[°C]: 35.8 / 23.4
Bedside temperature[°C]: 25.1
Sleeping time: 08:15 - 13:20 (didn't sleep much, already too warm)
Symptoms: headache. pulse too fast. breathing slightly accelerated with faint sounds in the right lung. It's begun.
Other: No birds this morning, not even swallows. About 60% of the lawn are brown and dead. Two of the purple petunia have withered. The tomato plant is still green and the pink-flowering strawberry plant seems to be fit as the proverbial sneaker!
Forecast (actualized)
[32/20]-[36/19]-[35/24]-[34/21]-[35/20]-[27/20]-[30/15]-[28/18]-[30/18]...
Forecast (yesterday)
[32/20]-[36/19]-[32/21]-[34/19]-[33/20]-[30/19]-[30/18]-[29/17]-[30/18]...
real temperatures, felt temperatures approx. +3
That's it. I'm running. Next post will come from a place roughly 1.000 km north west of here! Thank you,
solo, for taking in refugees.

Heatwave 2010 - Day 2
2010-07-09 15:53Outside temperature[°C]: 34.3 / 19.8
Bedside temperature[°C]: 24.4
Sleeping time: 07:00 - 15:30 (too early. have to shift further to 10:00-18:00)
Symptoms: nose membranes are scabbed over. headache. pulse too fast (but that may be due to the forecast right now)
Other: There were no sparrows and blackbirds this morning, only screeching swallows. About 30% of the lawn are brown and dead. The yellow petunia lies flat on the earth. The purple ones with the white frosting seems to hold out. Grandma put the umbrella over the tomato plant with the drooping leaves. It seems to recover a bit. Surprisingly, the pink-flowering strawberry plant seems to strive in the heat. It's grown and spread!
Forecast
[32/20]-[36/19]-[32/21]-[34/19]-[33/20]-[30/19]-[30/18]-[29/17]-[30/18]...
real temperatures, felt temperatures approx. +3
Weather forecast has been "corrected". No longer a cooling on Thursday, July 15. Instead temperatures remain firmly at 30/18 with little to no variation in the trends. This looks increasingly like 2003 with higher starting temperature.

Realization: I tend to panic when it comes to heat. Thanks, heatwave 2003, for nearly killing me. You certainly succeeded with my rationality!
Plans to keep my cool:
1) rereading / rewatching X/1999 specifically for Twin Star, Fuma and Seishiro interaction. (I might as well do something useful!)
2) a card on the desk constantly reminds me that HW 2003 was deadly because it lasted 6 weeks!
3) started a new Yanoman jigsaw puzzle: rice paddy in the mountains (lots of soft green and blue in 5146 pieces)
4) this blog documentary (daily)

I just looked at the actualized weather forecast for my area. I knew the next week was going to be very hot, but now they corrected the data to even higher values. We're going to see 36°C for at least a week, peak temperatures for my area are predicted 40°C, and it is not sure, if it cools down afterwards. 40°C - that's higher than in the heatwave 2003 and my immune system nearly folded in the end. I want to run, but I don't know where to, and how to get there. Heat starts tomorrow. Daytime ozone levels are already up. I'm scared.
