Tuesday:
Disputation passed. project doctor rer. nat. finished (discounting formalities)
[yay!... *thud*]
Wednesday:
spontaneous decision to change the OS of my home system from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit (as a way to keep me occupied and away from fretting over work/mail). Progress blubbered into the world via Twitter (sorry to all who didn't unfollow me fast enough).
Thursday:
Project x64 still going & I spotted Canon Pixma MG6150 Print/Copy/Scan with Wifi(WPA2) on Amazon.de for 60€ off. Ordered.
Friday:
Project x64 completed. Verdict: nice. Also verdict: functional on-board backup routine actually useable. Big surprise that. Submitted the corrections to my third paper online. Cute. :-)
Saturday:
MG6150 delivered and set up. That machine came with the *biggest* handbook I ever saw with new hardware (and that includes large university network machines!) and the sweetest user guidance I ever experienced. The dead trees were totally unnecessary! A single sheet with the very first step would have been enough for that one.
Sunday:
been working on the system all day. no issues. and I feel kind of alive again. Changing OS is apparently a working remedy in my case. ;)
Discovered Japanese history drama Ryouma Den. Impressive first ep. Looking forward to the remaining 47. Good background for the Bakumatsu time, I think. :)
Regarding the stories:
The last few weeks/months have been stressed-out stress, which affected my writing more than I care to admit. I'm rereading 36° now and will then edit Family Matters for the polished pdf/ebook version, which should help keeping things straight for the continuation of Business As Usual. Stay tuned.
