According to this entry in the tech blog of the British Guardian newspaper, the International Intellectual Property Alliance is lobbying for countries recommending the use of open source software to be considered enemies of capitalism.

I'm speechless...
...except:

Write a "Hello, World", give it away for free, and earn an eyeflap!

I wondered about getting myself a facebook account, too, but whenever I tried there was either current issues on privacy or I realized I didn't have much to say most of the time and it would be depressing to have that shown so obvious. :-)

It's just outrageous/scary that they openly take free software use as a sign of (media) piracy! Basically, I'm a criminal because I don't want to buy their buggy, impersonal goods and become their slave customer in the first place?

uurghh,.. very very true. where's the freedom of choice had gone =_= (and they claimed US originated bills)
i wonder how much money did they offer to put this treaty legally. i dont want to be fed by their stupid products. im curious what firm/story are behind this?

the International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA) - as stated in the linked blog entry (or one of the articles linked to it) is an alliance of organizations such as the MPAA (motion picture alliance of america) and the RIAA (the same guys for music), which are the ones with the draconic filesharer processes across the USA. But as far as I know, there are more partners in the IIPA than "merely" those two. :(
