New Bot: Scrubber.
2020-04-25 17:35Meet the new addition to my robot zoo: Scrubber, a Hobot by Sichler. It cleans windows.

The windows (and balcony door) at my place sum up to 30 sqm of glass panes to polish. I live groundfloor, so expect half of that to be extra-grimey with street dust. Given my asthma, I can't do that myself, so normally I have window cleaners over twice a year (Easter and in Autumn), which is expensive here, but still better than risking my lungs.
Last year, because of mom's hospitalizations and grandma's death, those windows weren't cleaned even once (bad timing), and even I with my high resistance to "perceiving window dirt" had to admit that those windows were... less than semi-transparent (by mom's standard, they were opaque), but having the windows cleaned does not meet my threshold of essential in lockdown. Hence, Scrubber.
After two runs - one on the dry windows to remove the dust and one (with fresh pads) on the windows sprayed wet with my usual window cleaning product) resulted in transparent panes (by my mom's standard!).
Scrubber will have amortized itself after three window cleansings. Given that I expect to clean the windows more often now, because "yay, light!", that'll likely be this Autumn, or earlier. 😊
