Given that researching stuff is one of my favored tasks in writing my non-scifi stories, I can really relate to this resident's annoyance of an author having things obviously wrong due to lack of research.
I sure don't claim to get everything right. I most certainly have a gazillion mistakes in my fiction playing in places I had no chance to visit in real life (except Google Earth tours and web hunts), but at least I can say that I tried my best without a traveling budget. So, J.C., what's your excuse (besides being published, that is)?
