current chapter word count: 5821
number of scenes unfinished again: 2
reason for that: more intensity for the plot!
character who proved immensely useful after recalling Sei's paranoia: Nokoru
character who had to show up just because I want to remind people he's not dead: Suoh
character who's phone manners are entirely better at the beginning of a call than at the end: Subaru
Strange - unrelated - observation after reading a X/Death Note x-over by
mithrigil:
there are currently a lot of X/DN X-overs posted on IJ, LJ, and "the dump", which makes me wonder whether
a) ideas come in (shock)waves
b) people take their ideas from other people's ideas (viral ideas)
c) a combination of both
d) neither and it's something else.
e) I probably shouldn't mull about this right after work...
Question: If Imonoyama had a phone that allows calls to be "put on hold", what music would be playing?

Date: 2008-04-30 14:52 (UTC)From:I think I've written Kamui all of twice, and both times in the context of being Subaru's unconscious shadow. I should possibly remedy that. There's this idea twisting around in my head about the psychology of emulation, what's conscious and chat isn't, as it relates to Subaru-->Sei and Kamui-->Subaru. But Kamui is awkward.

Date: 2008-04-30 15:07 (UTC)From:...I'm at a point in writing the Decagram that I find it difficult to limit myself to the canon. *sigh*
The dynamics Kamui --> Subaru (and return) are actually going to be addressed later in it; I'm not sure if in this or another story. There's certainly more to play with, esp. with respect to some of the things I'm going to throw at them in the rest of FM.

So how far out of control has Decagram spiraled at this point? :;smiles::

Date: 2008-04-30 15:20 (UTC)From:The overall plot is still nicely on track! But that's the plus when working with adaptable planning! Vague idea at first, specifics along the road. ;)
The details... include surprises as said before, but that's what makes writing interesting for me.
When I started, I had only 36° outlined, then Family Matters became necessary, which will need at least one sequel to deal with the Ameru and Kamui issues properly. In addition I really want to write Yue's story (though that's hardly a TBX fanfic at all, but historical orig fic (except for a young and ecstatic Tree-san, that is). And there's the plot of the thief, which might be interesting...
Right now, I kind of settled for Dekagram to involve what its name says: ten stories (of various sizes and likely not all in chronological order). However, if I find that my plot ideas don't carry for that much - or if I have to tell more than fits in 10 epics, well... *eg*
