state of the epilogue: complete!
state of Family Matters: complete!
(and I was only about 14 hours late to my goal of making it within 2012)
So, what's going to happen now?
I take the rest of the day off (and have a looong bubble bath), then I'm going to revisit/reread the comments
solo left in the file when plot verdicting. Afterwards, I haul everything back at poor unsuspecting
solo and continue with the Okinawa fic (looking forward to more of the prickly pine, that is), until the final grammar comb has found all my "you can't say it like that!"s. Then it gets posted as printable PDF, epub, and uploaded to the AO3. Likely sometime in February/March.
Afterwards...
...we'll see.
Happy 2013 everybody. :-)
And a small tidbit to feed you until it's posted:
"Okinawa?" Kamui's eyes widened. "You go on vacation with—" he turned and stared at the open window, shaking his head as if he wanted to 'unsee' something.
"It's nothing like that." Subaru actually felt his cheeks growing warm. "We're restructuring Japan's spiritual protection to accommodate the Dao and Okinawa requires special attention."
"And it's pure coincidence that you're going in Golden Week, right?" Kamui returned dryly. "Sure."
Subaru thought of Seishiro waving the flight ticket and smiled. "It's coincidence on my side," he confirmed, and admitted, "but probably not on Seishiro's."
