According to various sources, LJ has reimplemented their link interception "feature". The main problem with intercepting links is that you can no longer be sure the link you get displayed has anything to do with where the link is taking you (or your readers).

If you are concerned about that, you might want to set LJ to "untrusted" in your scriptblocker (probably No-Script on Firefox, I don't know about alternatives elsewhere). If you are logged into LJ, you might also opt out of this "feature" of theirs via the admin console. Type "set opt_exclude_stats 1" (without the quotes) into it and click execute.
