However, I concur that there is currently no hard evidence answering the question whether or not the remaining particle density in the troposphere is of any concern to airtravel. Previous plane incidents happened within close range of the eruption, thus at high particle densities.
Scientific flights are schedule for early Monday. I'm curious of the results as well. :)
The link above is to the map site of the BBC. The non-calculated bits are the satellite images top left and bottom. Note that particle density is decreasing with distance from the eruption.
