unrelated side-note: finally got around to order the subtitled, almost full-length version of John Woo's "Red Cliff" (about 4 hours, more than twice of what's released in German. Talk about state-approved censorship protecting the children!) as one of the references for Yue's story. It's 300 years early, but my next one is 200 years late -- and I'm going to make a ton of mistakes in that plot anyway, so... :) at least, it will be a lot of fun to watch!

Guhh this is all so intriguing. Of all things to wonder about, I find myself wondering if Seishiro's kids will take after him. And what he'll act like in front of them / how he'll react to them. I am SO excited for this. *__*

Well...
... think about how Seishiro took his position as Sakurazukamori. In terms of family (tradition), he might not consider the kids to be people with whom he'd like to socialize. ;)

Oh yes, the f*ed uped-ness of the canon Sakurazukomori.. family dynamics (Setsuka and Seishiro) is part of why I'm so excited for Seishiro's reaction.

I'm currently collection virtually everything of the time in which Yue would have lived (had he existed in the first place). Since he's about 20-25 when Sushun died (589), that means everything between 560-640 etc. is intresting. One never knows what might come in handy during plot-development. Daoism is certainly a part of his characterization, so... yes, pretty please. :)

I admit, I don't take the time frame absolute in terms of sources, because it's rather difficult to find books and/or movies that at least try to get the basics right, and while I'm willing to haunt Wikipedia & other websites for details, I'm certainly not going to study Chinese history & language on a scholar's level. If I can't pull the story off without that, I'm sad to say... Yue has to deal with it. ;)
