Name your 10 absolutely favorite couples (het/slash/canon/fanon) and ask people to see what trends they notice about your couples. Try to pick different fandoms.

Seishiro/Subaru (Tokyo Babylon/X-1999 - slash)
Gooseman/Niko (Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers - het)
Tatsumi/Tsuzuki (Yami no Matsuei - slash)
Chakotay/Janeway (StarTrek Voyager - het)
O'Neill/Carter (StarGate SG-1 - het)
Morgaine/Vanye (The Morgaine Quadrology - het, canon)
Darkness/Frost/Sholto (Merry Gentry series - slash; no idea how to split them into couples!)

These are the few that truly drew my attention to their dynamics.

I'm only familiar with 2 of the 7 pairings (S/S obviously, and I also totally shipped Doyle and Frost.. I forget what I thought of Sholto.. been awhile since I read any LKH) but! I see some similarities in dynamics when it comes to those two couples. The black/white contrast for one thing, and it's kind of funny now that I think about it but aren't Doyle and Seishiro a bit alike? Both assassins, both very tied to darkness, Doyle retains scars from serving his crazy queen, Seishiro retains scars from his mother who was probably nowhere near as fucked up as Andais but still.. unbalanced women are involved in both cases! Can't think of similarities between Frost and Subaru though, besides that they're both really angsty and pretty. I wish I remembered more about Doyle and Frost.. this will probably lead to rereading.

For those pairings I recognize, the trends might be: partnership and work relationships, with a little touch of reliability and unconditional trust issues (some positive, some negative). :)

You know what is really funny, I saw that fanart of yours of Doyle long before I started reading your fanfiction, I think it just turned up in a google image search and I thought it was really cool, and then way later when I was reading your fic and went to your site I saw it there and it was like wow how ironic, the internet has led me to you twice!

Def worse fates than rereading that stuff, but I'm sure it won't help me with fishing my mind out of the gutter |D

The question is fair enough because I forgot to sign myself. So going back to IJ days, that would be kijin-san. I figured that saying “thank you” for the next chapter would be easier with the account :).

I dare to disagree with the TB, because haven’t you already made it a kind of work relationship? Other thing is I really like those kind of relationships as opposed to “love conquers all” attitude - they are always much more logical, but also ambiguous/confusing at the same time.

“(if one discounts the end-of-the-world issue, but really, who'd want to deal with Destiny in the core hours of 9 to 6? *g*).” Oh gods, I saw it – it would be lot of “nothing personal” dialogs and some anxious inquiries like: “are we still going to the pub this evening?” “no, first I need to visit a hospital…” “oops, sorry” “don’t worry, it was nothing personal” ”don’t forget to take a proper sick leave certificate this time or the accounting bitch will kill you” “before the apocalypse happens?” “do you think she cares???” “guess not…” “man... this job sucks”.

Hot gossip topics in the Team Earth *:

#1. Kamui from Team Heaven must have slept with the boss, because the kid being the team leader this young? Not likely to happen otherwise.
#2. Statsuki is monitoring staff emails.
#3. With all the cost cutting, board of directors is considering outsourcing the apocalypse (preferably to India or Eastern Europe if they can guarantee exchange rates)

*(the team name was voted after National Environment Agency donated 20 coffee mugs for the staff)

I absolutely agree!!! Really, all that keeps me from permanent gutter mind is lingering values from my upbringing.

And so everything is back to normal, with ordinary people sleeping peacefully in their beds knowing that if the worst is going to happen, it will happen only during working hours - because even ultimate evil isn't going to bother with unpaid overtime.

Hey! Just because it's "working hours only" doesn't mean that staff isn't dedicated, you know. They try their best even if you really shouldn't try to interrupt their lunch hour.

Anyway, that was fun :)

(and unfortunately I am left with the vision of physical workers trying to reconstruct Yamanote Line on some Ukrainian fields)(and yes, they want to sell pieces of it afterwards in the Internet - if people are buying parts of Berlin Wall, why not collect pieces of kekkai? (that of course was marketing department's idea))
