Successful writing session today, albeit a disruptive one, as mind leaps from one scene to the next and the next and the next and the... instead of focussing on the much needed connections between them.
current chapter word count: 17448 (including 51 word of author notes)
scene(s) currently written: office exorcism, rattling Ameru, local liaison, at the beach, and end of vacation (basically, the rest of Business As Usual part 0 insists on being written parallel).
anything complete yet? Nope. Not even far. See comment about author notes above.
relevant detail still absent: confrontation with Miyagi (I have the outcome, but my mind is stuck on how it starts!)
character requiring new wall plaster: Subaru
characters in for surprises: Shang and Ameru

research of the day: malevolent yokai with wall connections
author realization: spiritual spelunking will most likely end up in the outtakes, it's just too long and its aim can be achieved by a much shorter "at the beach" snippet

* A yanamun is an evil-spirited, malevolent yokai (supernatural being); a nurikabe is a yokai that takes the form of a wall – usually invisible – to enclose and trap passersby.
