Editing CS5: the reworked text has grown from 0 pages to 8 pages; of which 4 are actual text (and not intro, frontispiece, etc. pp.), of which 2 pages are in a condition that I consider them done (except adaptations such as mood, political sleaziness, etc.). Overall, not bad for a single day on a weekend filled with grocery shopping and beta-ing a friend's lovely GR stories in exchange. :)
Btw. the Goose/Niko/Doc scene posted last time is gone from the plot. The important detail in there is better left for the commander to mull over. He manages it with a lot less words! ;)
How on Earth had the boy known that Niko was going to collapse? he asked himself, frowning. He'd been on the other side of the room. A change in scent wouldn't have traveled that far through the chaos of full staff, and surely she hadn't wasted her waning strength on sending him a message. In the dark, Joseph pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to ward off what felt like a major reminder of his once cracked skull rising up.
