As expected, Crystal Structures part 2 proved to be a lot more work than the previously addressed part 1. I'm currently on page 6 of (now) 41 pages and about every other scene I've addressed so far can be considered "rewritten".
Rewritten as in adding background, description, removing unnecessary repetitions, going for snarkier tag lines, adding a more professional work atmosphere (hey, when I initially wrote CS, I was a student! I didn't know zilch about that!), and leaving more of the interaction analysis to the reader (show, don't tell)!
At least, I like the result a lot better now!
Quote of the day: "Their mission report is one of Goose's finest I-won't-tell-you-shit texts and Niko doesn't say anything, either."
And the stories on the Archive of Our Own are up to "Droidal Affairs", now.
