Family Matters Poll (2): Subaru - Kamui relation

Family Matters is going into its final quarter (or so) now and I have to make up my mind about some things, which may or may not become important as tie-ins for future stories (or an elaborate expanding of this one).
Therefore I'm very interested what my readers think about the relationship between Subaru and Kamui canonically and/or in Family Matters so far.
Please note that I'm not asking about what you want it to be (as in "gimmeeee hotttt!! buttseks with Ka toppings!!!!11!" (or vice versa ;-) )).

From Subaru's side: friendship, a sense of responsibility, and a pretty strong dose of over-identification.
From Kamui's side: not exactly hero-worship, but I do think he looks up to Subaru to some extent, and Subaru's probably one of the few people he'll take instruction from.

I would definitely say friendship. Though Kamui does seem to be pretty... protective? in a way... of Subaru, or he feels responsible for Subaru, because it seems like he blames himself for Subaru's situation with Seishiro. I suppose that could be read into romantically or as something like jealousy on Kamui's part but... yeah I've just never been able to picture a romantic relationship between Subaru and Kamui xD I really love the way you've written them so far.

From what I can remember, they seemed like friends in that fanfic. Maybe like relatives of a sort, but I'm not sure. What solo said seems spot on.

On a whole, I think Subaru and Kamui over identify with each other. How could they not after the going within scene? However, Kamui seems to have a bit of awareness of Subaru that isn't completely innocent. On the other hand, he realizes Subaru is completely off limits in that respect emotionally and psychologically. Subaru loves Seishirou and cares for Kamui like a little brother or friend or anyone else pretty much since Subaru is like that to an extent. Yet, I would say he has some pretty strong feelings of attachment to Kamui that precludes his normal caring self too. It's complicated. Does that work?

I always think their relationship is like a sibling.. but without real blood relation..just that.
