akk: (Dreamwidth Sheep)
After playing around a while - and spending some time checking the imported entries from both LJ (active until March 2008) and IJ (active since I think May 2007; I imported my LJ sans comments back then) - I have the following summary:
  1. the LJ (imported first) imported just fine; entries, comments, pics, tags, ta da!
  2. the IJ imported without comments, but tags and pics are just fine and everything later than when I stopped posting to LJ is brought over well
  3. I noticed no doubling of posts that existed on both journals, but
  4. some (probably all, I'm not sure on that one) of the posts exclusively on IJ while the LJ was still active are missing (most notably Family Matters chapter 12)
  5. after posting twice to IJ and DW simultaneously using Semagic, I made a second attempt to import from IJ: still no comments, but also no doubles (except the two posts that were put on IJ and DW with Semagic since then; something I expected actually)
Overall experience with this particular electric sheep so far: surprisingly good, given that it's truly betaic and I'm a fan of Matthew Thomas' book "Before & After", a novel about Nostradamus, the end of the world and exploding sheep!

There are a few minor issues with the journal style
  1. the link "previous 20 posts" above the recent entries is black on black
  2. the links (link, leave a comment, ...) in the footer of the listed entries seem to be surrounded by a black box (with links and leave a comment it reaches slightly into the white text area, that's where it shows)
  3. the calendar, when displayed in the sidebar rather than as a bar in the page footer, is not aligned with the other side bar modules
  4. post preview doesn't show tags when displayed and the post footer links (Leave a comment, Previous Entry, Edit Entry, Edit Tags, Add to Memories, Untrack This, Next Entry) are all smashed together
but as far as I could see, these issues have already been reported. :)

What would I wish of the esheep?
  1. an option to belatedly import comments from IJ without starting from scratch again
  2. an option to keep the DW journal comment-wise synchronized with IJ
