I'm happy to announce that the freeze after completing the First Interlude has finally thawed. Turned out, I had all the pieces for it, but couldn't wrap my mind to put them in the right order. In short:

office shisa stay (and need a litter box - because going for a walk with liondogs in Kasumigaseki might be a tad too challenging with everything else going on)
Subaru stops dodging confronting his ppl in the OMR by taking an advice he's been given when first visiting Kyoto with Seishiro
instant purification thus will be a topic (I have yet to decide how "practical" a topic it will be)
but he still will be required to get his own secretary (because otherwise fatal office mishaps involving paperclips with OMR ppl might not be avoided - Namane has only so much patience)
thus the infamous phone call to Kyoto "No, T. will NOT SUFFICE." is a firm stay, too.

...and then there's still the minor issue of recurrent demons on the wharf. ;-)
