If you want to see what I write for a living, here's my latest research article (free abstract). You'll need a subscription (or access through a library or university network) for the full text. However, be warned: there's a distinct lack of talkative trees and explicit scenes in it! ;-)

I can't access the full thing but from what I can see, it would all be moonspeak to me |D Reminds me of my dad, he's also a scientist and it's the same with his papers. I can't even understand his job description. Polymer something something.

LOL, I'm imagining the reaction to a scientific article on talkative and manipulative trees. :D

I'll download it at uni tomorrow and take a look, sounds interesting. I know next to nothing about Raman microscopy, especially its fixation methods, but it's always interesting to learn. For some reason I thought you were a physicist, don't know where I got that from.
