Today I spontaneously bought a three dvd set of "Blood Ties" (first 12 eps), admittedly without knowing anything about the series but the few tiny pictures on the cover, the text next to it, and the vague memory of books of the same title in my favorite book store.
My monetary freeway isn't that well tarred as to me typically buying dvds without sound research about the content. This was an atypical buy. And a surprisingly delightful one.
I've spent the last four hours watching the first of three dvds of an almost perfect mix of "Nick Knight", "Angel", and "Adderly", spiced up with a tough mouthed lady detective former police detective going slowly blind, a five-hundred something illegitimate son of Henry VIII now working successfully as a graphic novel artist, and a former colleague of her's fighting his jealousy as much as the occult bad guys in which he as police detective struggles not to believe. Everything was well rounded with an e-pop-tech soundtrack decorated with mystera elements, sharp and well-used scene coloring (better than the first season CSI:Miami if you ask me) and enough UST to keep even the forgotten coffee hot. Purrrrfect!
I definitely have to get the remaining eps. Now.
