akk: (SeiSub - standing together in X)
Today's writing session was finally to the point again, as in continued the plot and provided text and "mental images" needed for it. It's not progressed very far textwise, but I finally have clear images of the location and the goings-on I will need there for the plot, so overall - yay!

current chapter word count: 11125
scene worked on today: Shiro's bookstore (intro to "job-offer from Hell")
scene completed? No, the actual meeting is still to be written (including the "job-offer from Hell"), but at least most of it is laid out and planned!
major author relieve: definitely no Darth Vader Moment!
major author worry: how to explain a Grey Heron as a Sumeragi shikigami.
nagging detail left on my mind: Is the shotengai roof really made of Perspex or...?
unrelated realization of today's post: I need more X-icons! But where to get them?

excerpt of today's session:

The shop itself was narrow and crammed with dark brown bookshelves that seemed to create a labyrinth lit by frosted bulbs hanging in regular intervals from the ceiling. Several book boxes with colorful picture books for children and a shelf on rolls holding an eclectic mix of manga and artbooks almost hid the desk by the door. A blackboard hanging from the ceiling above it announced a discount for second-hand middle school books and that occult literature was available on request. A pottery shisa with a bright vermillion mane sat by the cash register.

Strong wards prickled against Seishiro's shields when they entered the shop. The shisa's head flew up, staring at them. Faint voices came from behind the high shelves. "…yes, I can hold the book for you, but we're closed the rest of the week. You can fetch it next Monday. I'll just make a note that—" Ameru stopped dead at the sight of Subaru.
