Galaxy Rangers Edits - Mission Report 22

Painful decision in editing Crystal Structures 3: I will remove the dream sequence and subsequent psi operation. There's no chance to get those scenes right in the new style. If only I wouldn't like those scenes that much. Continuity in the fluff will be a bitch in the rest...

On the plus side: the plot no longer slows down, the focus is more equally distributed between all characters, and there's enough space left in this chapter to conclude the spy hunt and thus keep the original chapter structure. [Basically, it's only the author still whining about it.] It validates the ruthless killing of a beloved scene, when the text almost writes itself afterwards:

Walsh narrowed his eyes. "Five?"
"Five," Fox confirmed. "External personnel. Civilian contractors."
"You excluded military on purpose?" Walsh inquired.
"No, sir." — Hartford.
"Good. Fox, Hartford. Question them."
Goose winced.
"Verbally," Walsh specified. "Gooseman. Back to the labs. I do not want you anywhere near the practical side of this case, got it?"
"Yes, sir."
"Dismissed."


...and the killed scene might make a reappearance later on. :)
