Niko slumped, burying her head in her hands after the door hissed shut behind the infuriated detective. "I didn't know what it's like to be in a biased questioning," she said tiredly. "I—"
"Biased?" Zach asked, pulling out the chair Wang had eschewed to use. "In which way?"
Niko sighed. "SecStaff seemed fixed on me arranging for someone to kill Sven—" She stopped, startled. "I didn't even realize he's dead. I..." She shook her head. "It doesn't make sense."
"Goose found the body," Zach told her calmly. "They're trying to pin it to him."
"But that's nonsense!" she flared. "Shane would never—" She looked aside, tried to rebuild her composure. "I mean, why would Goose do that?"
"You tell me," Zach said dryly. "He came here to see you."
